Ok, so where i live we seem to be a little bit short of good quality take away food establishments, that said we have recently discovered a takeaway that is quite simply outstanding.

Its called soprano's, and it does meal deals, and this is one that we have been getting lately:

The Godfather - £11.00

1 x Chicken Parmo with Chips and Salad
1 x 10" margherita Pizza
1 x donner Kebab
1 x Chips
1 x sauce
1 x can of pop

Usually a decent parmo costs about £6, so £11 for all that is absolutely bargaintastic, and the best part is that they seem to be consistently good, usually a takeaway seems to go down in quality as the popularity increases...not this one by jove.

take a look see here http://www.the-menus.co.uk/userfiles/image/m-1297898120.pdf

For £5 (more or less, it's been a while) at Hot Peppers you can get any 10" Pizza, a bag of chips, a big bag of veggy pakora and a can of juice.

Pizza is okay, pakora is nice, chips are pretty awful. We used to get the deal a fair bit when we were studying all day and night for exams.

Chips are indeed terrible. However, they have a bit of a monopoly on late night eating - There is sod all else around there as the chippy up from JJs seems to operate on a totally random timescale.

Taste of Europe was the best kebab shop, shame they got shut down. They let me cut the kebab once.

All of my local takeaways are pretty crap, not a decent Indian for miles. :(

One of my local takeaways does various meal deals. I like Pizza Meal 1. A 10" pizza with 2 toppings, portion of chips or garlic bread and a can of fizzy drink for £5.

Chips are always good and the pizzas are very well made. Nom nom nom!

And do you agree about the quality, we have had the meal deals and they have always been very good.

To be honest it can be a bit hit or miss in my experience, their garlic bread has been ropey for years, and the last few pepperoni pizzas they've put the pepperoni under the cheese, which is just wrong IMO as it doesn't crisp up.

On the other hand I love the parmo's and their garlic sauce is like crack or something.

What we really need round us is a pizza shop they actually spins the bases etc themselves but i've not seen one of those for years.

Ying Can Cook in New Marske does a cracking chinese.

If I'm paying out £11 for a takeaway "deal", then I'd expect at least 2 cans of pop or 1.5ltr bottle.

1 can of pop suggests that 1 person is going to eat all that!

Only have a few takeaways which we frequent in the area. One Indian gives a free side dish and 1.5l coke over a certain value, another Indian gives 10% discount. Although we've also started to get pizza's delivered from Pizza hut but only on Tuesdays when it's BOGOF. Not paying full value.

Gone a bit more up market too and started ordering Sushi, absolutely delightful stuff and they even give you 5% discount. What more can you ask for :p

£3.50 for 3 hot wings, 3 strips, chips and a strip burger from a place called Maryland Chicken. That's massive though the usual is 5 strips or 6 wings and chips plus a drink for £2. It's stupidly cheap but actually really nice and doesn't seem really bad quality

They do WHAT? Toppings go on top of the cheese, not beneath! Thats basic pizza making knowledge!

Whats this parmo thing you speak so highly of? Pics? :D

It seems to have spread from another pizza shop in the same town. It's just wrong!

The link above gives a fair description of it, definitely an occasional treat thing though, and has to come with a decent side salad to cut through the stodge of it.

Got caught out by that when I recently got the £16 deal (for 4 of us and half was left over) when the mother in law was round and we'd left it too late to cook. Turned up with 1 can of Sunkist, god only knows why they even bothered.

Chicken breast smashed flat with a rolling pin, breaded, then covered in cheese. A slight step up from donner kebab in the "food only eaten when paralytically drunk" league table, or as teh smoggies call it "fine dining".

I'm honestly not sure if I like the idea of that or not. Its probably something I would only eat when I was totally hammered.
