ok guys i got a strange one here. I have Thunder-Flies behind my screen  . The little ******* get everywhere. I have one right in the middle of the screen which seems to be behind the protective layer. And another at the top which is behind the TFT layer itself. Am i asking for trouble if i take my screen apart?? ive taken a PSP apart before and was easy to put back together, this look like more of a challange. Anyone done this before??

Tis not that difficult to do, done it a few times at work. Should be a couple of screws on the panel.
The only thing you have to be careful with is dust getting in when you reassemble it. Small specs of white get more annoying than the thunder flies, if you are not careful. A compressor is a good way to keep dust out or find a friend who works for a company that has a clean room :p

I take it the monitor is out of warranty?

There's half a chance they'll drop to the bottom in a few days - I had four dead thunder flies a couple of days ago - only got one now so i assume the others have fallen off.

Top tip: If you are going to take it apart. Do it in an area where you can pop a few townels down and spray the area with a fine mist of water to dampen down and dust particles in the air. You could also run the shower and do it in the bathroom

I fancy taking my NEC 20WGX2 apart to mask up the backlight where it's bleeding a little.

Yeah its pretty easy. When I got my first TFT about 6 years ago. I wanted to change the colour from Black to Silver.. Its a couple of screws and a little bit of fiddling abot getting the front and back panel parted. Make sure there aren't any wires to a control panel that may be housed at the front. In other words be careful when pulling the panels away from eachother.
