I'm moving to Canada soon and I was wondering if it's better to take my 360 with me or buy a new one there. Has anyone else done this and what would people reccomend. Will I be able to keep my gamertag even if I get rid of my UK one? Is it as easy to import UK games from here as it is to get them from there? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Buy a travelplug and you should be fine :)

Most cheap imports come from Canada (in the games market) so you might be better off trying to find some site in Canada that could get hold of the UK games for you.

TBH, I would flog the PAL console and get a Canadian NTSC model. You don't want to have to fanny about importing games.

Some games are region free, but I would sell the PAL one ASAP before any price drops, it shouldnt cost too much more to replace with a Canadian one either, perhaps use ebay Canada to break even.

Thats what i would do as well, plus the 360 elite is already out there so you could always go and get that one.

Think about buying a memory card for your favourite saves then flog it and buy a new one when you're out there. You'll have warranty problems if it dies and local DVDs will work (or are you taking all your PAL ones over?).

Find out what games you have are region free and flog the rest with it.

Your gamertag will be safe and you'll be able to re download your arcade games though you'll be forced to be online to play them.

You'd need a hefty step-up converter to run a PAL console in Canada. I'd just sell up and re-buy when you're over there. Like smcshaw says, moving saves to a memory card is a good idea. If you have a bunch of downloaded games and stuff you might want to keep the hard drive and use it in the new console. Done this myself between different region consoles.. of course there's the whole lame thing where you need to be online with your gamertag to play XBLA games (or the new console id doesn't match the download from your old console and it defaults to trial mode).
