I ran a couple of sites once, quite low end stuff where I was getting around 1k visitors a day. Only got like 30$ a month in adsense though. :(

I can't really say (paranoid someone might steal it lol). It's just a generic version of a name used in the adult industry and world wide).

Okay put it simply:

Would you go on a site which was quicker to type than competitors, had the same sort of stuff with the potential of a community? Little to no ads with some affiliate linking if you desired to?

What kind of person would want to join a porn community?

I mean, I like a dirty video as much as the next man but i'd have no desire to join a community to chat about porn and stuff :/
 
I can understand the ones where people post downloads and stuff, it's similar to piracy 'communities' but they're not really porn sites with a community, they're forum based download indexes more than anything.

What would a community based on a porn site be like? Just constant posts 'wow she has nice jugs', 'i would nail her til it fell off' etc.? :/

True enough I suppose. You never know though. It definitely wouldn't be a major portion of the site, maybe just a floating community based around content?

If you don't know how to make money out of it then don't do it.

Get proper figures about current members and how much throughput there is, then you can make a proper estimation if you can break even in a respectable time frame.

You need to know how to progress if you spend 5k on something, not be "Oh I could get some stuff for this, and I could get that for those.....".
 
I say go for it and give us (your OCUK brothers) free 1 month pass ;)
I think I speak for everyone here in OCUK that we will fully support the op with this investment if free passes for OCUK members is involved :o

But seriously though.. talk to the owner and get all the numbers.. start calculating and thinking of marketing and business plans etc. See if it's actually worth the hassle first.
