I bought DOA4 at the weekend hoping for some mindless tag team action with the Wife. Unfortuantley it wasnt our cup of tea, so I was hoping for a few reccomendations for a game I could pick up that we can play
co-operatively. Doesnt nessicarrily have to be a 360 game as ive got a ps2/gc/xbox and PCs. But it would be nice for it to be on the 360.
I have been looking on gamespot, but their reviews, while mentioning co-op on some games dont really go into any depth on what the co-op is like. so a few 'hands on' oppinions of some new games would be great.

already got perfect dark 0 (which she likes) and kameo for the 360

Games that we enjoy together
Baldurs gate PC + console
Champions of Norrath + Sequal
Hunter: The reckoning, Series.
CnC generals
BFME2
Farcry
Battlefield
Diablo II

Any and all suggestions would be greatfully recieved!

Cor! Can I take my wife back and get a model like yours!

Anyway...

Kameo is pretty good in co-op mode, helping each other out in different guises is pretty nifty, GR:AW is really good in Co-op, although the split screen (which I used at the weekend with a mate) is a bit on the small side if you don't have a large tele.

PGR3 you can't have 2 player, which is a shame, but RidgeRacer6 is good in two player, especially when you unlock the special cars.

Ride Racer 6 is good multiplayer fun! me and the other half play on that a fair bit! she never wins though!! :D

This particular model is all mine, ;) but i can suggest training your current model with games such as hexic/tetris to begin with. Then moving to RTS (they like to be in control of so many men). Then finally try some action games. Ive been unsuccessful with sports games with this particular model so far however :(

Kameo seems to be ok so far, but hasnt really grabbed us yet (only completed the first level together) and she isnt too keen on racing games really, as they are more competative than co-operative.

GR:AW does sound good though. Would a SD 32 inch tele be ok, as its not really been a problem on any other FPS'. Do you control just one soldier, or do you get a squad (in the co-op part that is) ?

I'm fortunate in that I have the same model as yourself and we're always on the look out for good 2 player co-op games.

Before we got an X-Box we played through Gauntlet coop and that determined the sort of games we started with on the Box.

Dungeons and Dragons: Heroes, Baldur's Gate were firm favourites even if they are a bit dumbed down compared to PC versions.

She loved Soul Calibre 2; playing through the story mode together (taking turns) and also having a lot of good fights. We bought DOA4 to recapture this but like you, it's really not been our cup of tea.

Another of couple of games that really worked, even though they're single player and we took it in turns with the controller were Project Zero (single player horror) which my wife now has down as one of her favourite game of all time, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

The only game she's enjoyed on the 360 so far has been Kameo which after the first level really opens up. She's playing through it single player then we do the levels co-op after. The only racing game she's ever liked is micro machines so PGR3, Full Auto were a no go.

A few thoughts, which I hope have helped :)

I would recommend a good MMORPG as you and your wife seems to like playing co-op and RPG games. Something like WoW or Guild Wars maybe

Thanks for all the input!

looks like ill probably pick up ghost recon 3,

Thanks for all the games listed smcshaw, we have played the lot im afraid, but its good to see another couple who both enjoying playing exactally the same games we do. (anybody we mention playing games to round here thinks we are very odd)

mcc49, we did both used to play guildwars but have basically got a bit fed up with it now though it was great fun. As we have just had our first child, its seriously reduced gaming time, so anything which requires a subscription is kind of not sensible for us.

thanks again guys!
