thought it should share, best gig I have been to in a good couple of years, Taking Dawn (from Las Vegas, Nevada) at Newcastle O2 Academy 2 on friday night. band were incredible, brilliant live act, nice guys and another autographed ticket to add to my growing collection! anyone else here attend the gig, or anyone else like Taking Dawn? for me them and Jettblack are probably the best two bands in my collection at the moment. music at its best is what I say! :D
 
they are described as 'heavy metal', my favourite song by them at the moment is 'The Chain' a cover of a Fleetwood Mac song. give it a listen!
 
Hmm sounds alright - difficult to judge on that song though as the original is a hearty nugget of gold in itself :)

Listening to more of their stuff they remind me of BulletForMyValentine, A7x and InFlames.

They strike me at an unusual pitch in the market - they take themselves too seriously to line up with Steel Panther et al, but you can gain an influence of classic metal. Similar to how Airbourne as like a comedy AC/DC tribute but don't admit to the obvious levels of humour in their comparison :D
 
the good point they have is they are all very good musicians and very good at their trade live, which is very important for me. nothing worse than a great band on studio album being really mediocre live, ever heard of a band called Jettblack as well, they are excellent in my books! ;)
 
Saw them supporting KISS last year - pretty damned good I'd say and really got the crowd going :)

Oh and the jump into the pit! :D
