I want to take my E6600 to the above speed.

What frequency do i need to do this and does the RAM need to be overclocked in conjunction with this to reach such a level?

I had problems getting passed 333 with my multiplayer on x9 now its on 8x and im running at 3.4Ghz just need to update my siggy.

I also have a E6660 yes that is correct all you need to do is change the FSB to 1333MHZ x 9 and then it will run at 3GHZ easy OC

The stock cooler is ok but it will run quite hot. Certainly worth investing in a custom one :)

What ram do you have? Ideally you would run it 1:1 ratio, so it would run at 335mhz. PC6400 DDR2 runs at 400mhz stock anyway, so wouldn't have a problem.

See, maybe I'm being stupid but I struggle with the memory dividers with my new intel system. I've never had intel before, and the way the Gigabyte board gets it's RAM sped is by taking the CPU FSB then allowing you to apply different dividers. Say you have the FSB set to 332x9 like mine, I apply the 2.40 divider and get a ram speed of 398Mhz (or 796 depending on how you look at it). I can't work out how you actually make it run at 1:1.
