Taking Pictures of People...Tips..NIkon d50..

Hi all. My photography has gone up in the world since i was in my local paper ect with some of the pics i had done for my local company..on their new show room...blabla..but any how..The designer @ this place wants a picture of her child in the style of venture..But thier a ruddy rip off. Im experienced in photo shop so i can tweak the photos but i wouldnt mind some tips..Im using a nikon d50..I will be taking pics against a white back ground..I want to get the kind of bleached out effect on the skin..But make her childs eyes stand out and also the tshirt....any tips would be awsome thanks...

i was simply asking for some tips on how to take a good portrait photo. IN the style of venture. (company) Im wanting to get a bleached effect on the skin of the sunbject,with colors stading out.
