Taking stuff that isnt yours

A few years ago a friend and I were walking to work and saw a brand new phone on the floor, it looked like it would have been worth a couple of hundred at the time. we called the number that said 'home' and told them we had found it and they could pick it up from the shop we were working in at the time. They came in, said 'have you got my phone' in a very short way we gave it to them they said 'where did you find it' we told them and they said 'right' and stormed off as if we were the ones who stole it. I wish we had kept it now or just left it there.

If its money I will keep it unless i see someone drop it, a few times at a cash machine people have left there cash there so i told them, if they had already left i would have kept it.

Wow, Guest. There is something wrong with your moral compass. It's broken and you need to exchange it for a new one.

You deliberately choose to keep things you find because you're dumb enough to keep losing your stuff and don't get it back. You are a thief. What's going to happen if you ever get mugged, are you going to hold up the next old lady you see and take her money? What happens if your house gets burgled? Are you going to knock over your neighbour's house because you need a new telly?

If you had said you kept one item then fine, whatever. It's not very nice. But no, you have told us you actively choose to not return anything.

Whether you really are a ***** or just an Internet troll, you're an arse.

Found an ipod on the floor once on a busy high street, had no way of knowing who's it was so felt no guilt in keeping it and then giving it away as a present

It's times like that when I'd quiz them about the phone and if they were being really shirty with me I'd probably not give it back to them.

I find quite a lot of phones at work as a matter of course, although they're usually collected before the people have left the venue

I once found a wallet with credit/debit cards inside. I found an ID card inside too, local guy so I returned it.

Even if there was cash inside I would not keep it.

Now if I found a suitcase full of cash one day....that would be a different matter entirely :p

Ding ding ding.

We have a new contender for "Alpha Loser" in the thread. Did you tell the person you gave it to that it was stolen property?

I found your cameras and put them on ebay, i burnt your towel and used your phones for my sexline habits...

Er, yeah, it was my aunty. I told her I'd found an ipod and didn't have any need for it, did she want it as she was about to buy one. What is an alpha loser and why am I one??

I should also mention I was in Torquay (took the gf there for a few days) and was just about to leave for a 5 hour drive home, so had no real way of returning it, other than leaving it on the floor somewhere

Ever heard of handing things in to the Police?

Was she proud off you for being such a shining star of the community?

I was about to leave for home, didn't know where the police station was. I didn't ask her if she was proud and I don't think the term shining star was used. I can ask her later though if it's important to you

I'd also like to add that I'm very sorry I've offended you with my despicable actions

So you just thourght "oh look, I've found someone elses property, I could check where the police station is and hand it in so the owner could get it back.....NAH! I'll give it to my aunt, thats easier", the worst thing is you actualy seem proud of yourself.

You disgust me.
