Just nipped into town and picked up FIFA 08 (I wont be buying the shambles that is Pro Evo 2008 so FIFA was my only option for next gen footie).
At the same time I took a couple of PSP games down for a mates other half and was asked to look out for Shrek the 3rd in particular. I did tell her at the time there were far better options available, but I would still look out for Shrek.
So I pick up FIFA, that's me sorted, decision time now. Do I go with what she has requested, or pick out something that while she may not have heard of it, is still infinately better? I did look for Shrek (although I must admit not very hard
) I couldn't find it in the very brief time that I looked for it, and as I was parked on double yellows I wanted it to be an in and out job.
I ended up getting Daxter instead (which I did have in mind before I even went down
) It goes without saying the only reason she wanted Shrek was 'because it's Shrek' regardless of how good the game is. As far as I'm concerned I've saved her from a terrible game and replaced it with a similar type of game, except this one happens to be ranked 9th for PSP games on gamerankings.
As someone who is fairly clued up on the state of gaming I feel it's almost a duty to try and save the uneducated from themselves. Who would have/has done the same? Who would have just left the dummy with their **** game and thought 'serves you right'?
