What order do you recommend putting a build together? Do you install everything on the motherboard before you install it in the case? What are the things to look out for when you get to the bios? I'd love to hear peoples methodologies. Thanks :)

I place all parts on the board whilst external to the case, install board in the case followed by HD'S and PSU, do some cable tidying and then install any PCI cards ext.

In the BIOS check HD boot options and memory speed, timmings and voltage ect.

Great, thanks for the reply RJC. So you leave the Graphics card until the mobo is in the case? Do I need to check the settings for everything in the BIOS to see that it conforms to the part manufacturer, i.e. do I need to check the CPU voltage is what Intel states? Or mainly the RAM?

Mainly the ram you would need to check, the details should be on the side of each module, cpu ect should take of it's self :)

Cpu installed on board - hsf on.
ram in
psu in case
mobo in case
dvd drives in case
hard drives in case
power to everything
data cables to everything
graphics card/other pci devices in
power to them
boot
make sure everything is detected, (correct ram speed/size, hdd size, dvd drive)
set boot priority to dvd-hdd-any other you want
insert os disk
reboot and install
