I will be travelling to Barcelona this week, and I just can't decide if I should leave my tripod or take it with me.

It's not a particularly light-weight tripod so would weigh me down a bit, so the question is will I really miss it?

After all I do have a mini-tripod if there is a handy table to help me compose my shots :)

Will you be out and about? If you are, then stick to the mini-tripod or even invest in a gorilla-pod for DSLR. Will come in very handy.

I'll be spending most of the day out in barca, and wont be heading back to the hotel too often as we're staying out of town.

I don't really know what I'll be taking, just anything and everything hopefully!

I am steering towards leaving it at home due to awkwardness (i can't fasten it to my bag so I'll be carrying it everywhere). I just don't want to wish I had taken it because of a missed killer shot.

Gorilla pod for shot when you're walking about and you *need* your camera held up against things like lamp post/fence/e.t.c when you/family/friends all in one shot. or/and a mono-pod for when you need the stabilisation to take that sharp shot.

At least that's what I'd do.

I carried by cheapo Star-72 Tripod on a one day tour around my town, being cheap, it is lighter than normal "sturdy tripods", it was already a back aching problem. I improvided by strapping it into my rugsack too. Didn't use much as 9/10times, I find something to lean against or lay my camera on.
