What I mean is, I sometimes find myself watching a movie or tv drama, but mostly movies, and randomly start thinking about the cameras following the actors or scenery. I hate that. It makes me start being aware of the crew on set and the actors reciting their lines and of course that takes you away from your belief in the characters. It doesn't last long mind you, I usually get back into it.

Also, after seeing so many behind the scenes documentaries of how movie stunts and explosions are done, I can't help becoming conscious of those when they happen. I also try to avoid looking at the credits at the start of the movie. I know it's actors but I don't want to be reminded of that until the movie is finished.

I guess I'm weird. :D Does this happen to you?

I can understand why a lot of actors don't watch their own films, they've seen behind the curtain and the magic has gone.

Plus they've probably repeated their scenes a hundred times over :p

I have the same problem watching porn. :D

There were a few times where the acting was so good that I ended up being taken out of the film.

John Hurt in The Proposition
Leonardo DiCaprio in Django, Once Upon a Time
Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Nocturnal Animals
