I've made this thread for people to talk about a album that they like, not neccessarily their favourite just a album that they enjoy and would like to write some words about why its dear to them.
I'll start mine is...
Third by Soft Machine.
Third is a double LP featuring 4 songs each filling a whole side of vinyl. This is considered the peak of soft machines output and its not difficult to see why.
Soft Machine at this period were
Robert Wyatt - Percussion, vocals
Hugh Hopper - Bass
Mike Ratledge - Organ
Elton Dean - Saxophone
You will notice if you happen to research this album there are a lot more musicians credited on this record but these four are the main members of the band at this time.
I won't do a song by song review as I find that a bit boring and difficult but this album is a neccessary inclusion in any fan of progressive rock music or jazz fusion.
