Well as some of you know, i bought a GTX280 off over clockers yesterday. It arrived this morning and i couldn't wait to get home to install it !

Any ways, i got home this evening and placed it where my HD4870 used to sit. Very excited rushed back to my desk, plugged everything back in and pressed the power button ...

Nothing. The computer boots up and posts but nothing shows up on the screen, I can even head it getting into windows. Even though i bought a clearance item, I am very disappointed as I posted my old card off today and possibly wont have one in time for the xmas holiday !

Am i missing something possibly ?

Yep, ive checked and rechecked the power connectors. The green light on the back of the card comes on, which means the connectors are plugged in correctly. Another thing i noticed was that the metal exhaust plate was quite bent and damaged but surely OCUK test the b grade items before they are sold on ?

Dont worry about the e-mails mate, i got a good price for it ne ways !

I'm not terribly annoyed, im just more concerned whether or not they can get me a replacement card for xmas, as like i said, i have posted my ATI now !

I wonder what action they will take on this, i cant really afford to pay the difference for a brand new card either. A pretty disappointing evening for me !

It wasnt bent enough to stop it from slotting it, it looks like it had already been bent back prior to me receiving it !

well if they dont have any emm b grade 280gtx im not sure they will replace it. what did they say ?

Have you tried the other DVI socket, did you do a proper uninstall of the ATi drivers etc...

Ive tried both DVI sockets, even two different cables for the monitor. I didn't uninstall the ATI drivers, although that is irrelevant as there is not display from the start.

maybe the bios has bizarrely changed to not boot with PEG first.

I would suggest trying to boot into VGA mode pressing F8 but if you can't get that far then it sucks

Id have uninstalled the drivers before swapping cards.

Do you think that could have caused a problem ? Even displaying the boot screen ?

It should show your boot screen as no drivers are loaded until you start loading windows.
