Talk me into going water

1. It looks the bomb

2. Better than air cooling

3. Much quieter than air cooling

4. Can in lots of cases give you much more overclocking headroom even more so with a gpu block

5. Looks the bomb !

However , i would spec your own and go for a better pump combo.

Very compelling argument for watercooling! Lol.

What kit would you recommend? Budget would be around the £250-£300 mark.

Well , really need you're system specs and what case you have and what you inted to cool now and in the near future.

Specs are as follows.

4770K I7, currently running @ 4.5ghz 1.25v temps max out around 70c gaming.
MSI Z87-G45 motherboard
MSI 290 gaming GPU
Corsair 650D case.

May in the future look at a second 290, but not for a few months at least.

I probably wouldn't be looking at watercooling the GPU right now, but it maybe an option in the future when I know a bit more about watercooling.

There has been specific issues with that pump/res combo, I attempted to help someone on here and suggested a kit that comes with the p/res combo.. Well everything was great apart from the p/r combo which vibrated/buzzed and made an awful sound.

He got it swapped for a 2nd one and that one did the same thing...

And use the compression fittings ocuk sell for £2.99 or something they are awesome.

And the Phobya Xtreme 200mm radiator to go on the front.

Will tip you above budget but it will cool your GPU, give you a better pump, and more and better radiator. I have watercooled in the 650D and you will have a cm of clearance from the motherboard at the top with a set of fans.

+1 on the phobya 200 , i run one in my 650d plus a xspc EX280 and a Ekwb XT120 as it fits perfectly in the rear exhaust space , just remember that a 36mm thick rad and fans are the max you can run up top in the 650d , any bigger and you need to mount the rad externally.

I own a 650D and the max is actually a EK XT radiator for 240mm mounting, which is now EOL + one set of 25mm fans. These are 47mm thick. The 280mm radiators probably have a little less leeway in terms of thickness, but given how good the 240mm rads are with the right fan choice, i dont see much reason to go for 280mm. It is good you mentioned the thickness limit, as i completely forgot (was focusing on the 200mm rad).

Depending on the motherboard, you can get away with more but these PE rads are thinner and offer best performance in their thickness, so would just get those.
