Talk on Xbox Live from your desktop

This has been knocking around for a while I think, and if it is the same one, there were concerns regarding the security of it the first time it was mentioned.

Have these been resolved/confirmed to be safe?

I can't say I know mate. I just came across it whilst browsing and whilst it didn't interest me a few people wanted a link when I mentioned it during a GRAW game.

I do know a new version was released recently so perhaps this could have fixed these potential flaws. The website should say, otherwise if it is the case that it is insecure it maybe best to avoid.

I only mention it because I know that before it involved providing things like passwords etc, and there were concerns they could be used frauduently.

Having said that, Ive not heard of anyone having any problems, so I guess it must be fine :)

I've stayed away from it since it was first mentioned, just in case.

Unless someone can prove it really is safe somehow :)

nismo is correct, and to my knowledge the problem still exists

edit, well its not a problem, more of a security flaw, ive heard no1 having problems but i dont feel confident using it

Is it actually a problem though, or is it just people being paranoid?

I've not heard of anyone being scammed, so assume its safe. Still not ideal though, and I wont be using it.

you lot are worse than the x-files

Question: Does XBList steal my personal info?
Answer: No. Absolutely not. Not now, not ever. XBList is for you to view your gamertag. It does not communicate your Xbox Live Friends List, your Gamer Tag, your Passport credentials, or any other information. It talks to only 3 sites automatically: Xbox.com (for the friends list), Bungie.net (for the emblems) and my site (to check for updates only). It doesn't even do Passport login for you - it lets Internet Explorer do it, so you know I'm not faking the Passport site. However, I urge you to not take my word for it. Download Fiddler and use it to monitor XBLists's communications. You'll see that it does not stealthily upload anything to my servers or anything like that.
