I apologise for any typos as I am not used to posting on my phone.

On thursday I lost my net connection, fine but quickly realised the phone line was dead.

Cute my phone call to talk talk, they preceded to transfer me to every department under the sun and nobody could give me a straight answer.

Some departments say I am connected, some not and the keep referring top a legacy account.
Frankly there solution of we will investigate next week is not that appealing.

Does anyone here work for talk talk who can have a look?

Another 5 hours is not something I can face.

Terrible doesn't even begin to describe how bad these idiots I spoke to are.

I've been with them since they took over pipex, I was with them 10 years.

Aside from a small connection issue, this is the first time I have had the joy of there "customer service".

I'm the same, ex-Pipex customer. I lost my line connection last Friday afternoon. Spent close to 2 hrs on the customer services line being passed around. They couldn't even recognise my number, never mind fix my problem!!! :-O I guess its still registered as Pipex as I still get billed from Pipex. But the old Pipex customer servies goes straight through to Talk Talk now, who haven't got a clue about anything!! Luckily my line magically came back the next day. I'd hate to go though all that again...."There are currently more than 9 in the queue" Grrrrrr

Not related to the company but I had this problem with homeserve, in the end I remembered a friend on facebook who likes to complain posted this link:

http://www.ceoemail.com/

I fired an email to the top dog of homeserve and within 20minutes had a phone call saying they were sorry. I to was passed around lots of customer service agents (which is all documented on their systems) and got a full refund including the statutory callout cost :D

Try that, its the shortest easiest route.

My parents are with TalkTalk now (they were with AOL for years, then were transferred to Carphone Warehouse's AOL service, then moved to TalkTalk's AOL service because it included phone service as a deal, so was cheaper), and the phone line's died completely a few times now in the past week. Once was Thursday night, for about half an hour, but before then, on Tuesday I think, it was off until 5pm, from at least 11 in the morning, which is when I first checked.

Before then, it's been crap anyway (temporary drops in internet connection several times a day, 30% slower than Carphone Warehouse were etc etc), but my dad still seems to remain unconvinced about their terribleness.

Update:

I tried to sign up to the forums but had no joy, I imagine this is linked to my lack of service.

I found the email to the CEO, dropped him an email and got a response apologising and I would get a call immediately.

6 hours later, still no net our call.

I have a very similar problem. They have stopped Billing me but I still have a net connection. I've phoned many times to tell them to start Billing me or let me have a mac code or whatever it's called but they deny I am with them. When I go to another provider to get them to take over my connection they say I'm listed with talk talk and they can't do anything without the Mac.

They are a dire, dire company and the only option I can see now to get the issue resolved is to go via the regulator.

Many may say it's great getting no bills but I just know it will go pear shaped at some point so want it sorted. I am ex nildram (so ex pipex) and talk talk don't seem to be able to handle.this situation.

My nan has talktalk, they deny blocking ports but they actually do. I was trying to setup ssh on a non standard port but they did not like it.

correction

the guy paid 50p a day in India who has not got a clue what you are saying answers no to the question he does not understand!

If you have been ceased be it something that talktalk have done, or an adsl loss due to something BT have done knocking the service off your line, worst case scenario they will have to reprovision it, if it's. Fault then they will take the normal route of fault finding. First off, your phone line is dead Is a big giveaway that either it's a copper line fault or there is no fault, but you have no service from your provider

If its a reprovision, then it will be 7-10 working days, or if they do fast track (bearing in mind ISPs get lumped with a 170 quick charge for this, will be 3-4 working days, however they may not offer you a fast track unless you pay for it.

Hopefully it's just a fault, either way, this would be a good time to pick a better ISP

Ugh dont get me started, ourline cuts out for about 2 hours about 4-5 times a week, we're a tiscali to talktalk transfer and afer 3 hours on the phone they said 'oh its not our problem talk to tiscali on this number, they still have a seperate tech line even though you pay us'

the number he gave me didnt exist, another hour on the phone and the only thing they could give me was a differant tiscali numbre that was almost £1/min,
