Install day today, didn't start off great bt engineer phoned to say he was on his way, as i wasn't going to be in i took the opportunity to explain about the chat i'd had with talktalk. Turns out he should change the faceplate as best practice, anyway i waited for him as only twenty minutes away, took one look at the faceplate location and decided he'd see how it went and if need be run a new cable 
Thankfully he didn't need to do that and all is well, just run a speed test at speedtest.net and results are ping 12ms down 27.47Mbps up 1.84Mbps hopefully that will go up over the following weeks as it settles down, but i'm happy
Just run speed test from
gaming rig rj45
ping 1ms down 37.49 up 1.89
laptop wireless
ping 8ms down 34.04 up 1.94
android phone via speedtest app
ping 37ms down 30.97 up 1.91
