The one they supply is dire and ive been round a house tonight to replace it with a us robotics one.

I cant for one get it to work! it doesnt even see the physical lines there. Just says its down.

Anyone replaced one sucessfully with some thing else?

The wireless range and reliability is dire.

cheers

I'm a Tiscali / Talk Talk user and have used a Netgear DG834G and now using a Linksys WAG320N without any problems

Ps i miss Tiscali

TalkTalk have supplied loads of different router models over the years, which one do you have?

As for the replacement router, you definitely didn't upgrade - US Robotics were good back when 56K Modems were in fashion but these days their ADSL routers are terrible (from my own experience)

I have used loads of routers on my TalkTalk line: Huawei 520b (TalkTalk branded), D-Link DSL-2640R (TalkTalk branded), BT 2700HGV, Cisco 877W, Cisco 887, Speedtouch 585v6/v7 and I finally settled on a Netgear DG834GT as the Broadcom chipset in it gives me the best stable sync rate my line can handle.

Have you tried a different telephone cable and microfiler? Also, have you tried plugging it into the test socket? TalkTalk have a handy guide on their TalkTalkMembers website on how to get to the test socket: http://www.talktalkmembers.com/content/view/88/68/
