Hi all,

So we have had condensation issues since we bought our house around 2 years ago.

We had to get it looked at as it has now damaged both walls in the bedrooms (mould, paper peeling etc)

A specialist is quoting £1200 for a positive pressure system fitted to fix the problem (which is apparently quite bad with humidity at 75% in all rooms, 85% in bathroom)

Anyone have an opinion on this system? we were hoping we would just need an extractor fan so the cost was a bit of a shock. Nothing came up on the property report when we bought the place.

Thanks All!

A better system that forces air out natural leakage than just extractors, i.e. you'll have a better coverage of movement of air than one single extractor.

Is it a heat recovery fan?

I do not know, sadly I was at work at the time, will see if he left any documentation, he explained it to my partner. Thinking of it we have not had the info e-mailed through yet it will be on there I imagine (he was only here yesterday). I just know it as a positive pressure system at the moment!

Got the details.

This is the exact system:

"Mr Venty ECO2 Loft mounted unit with heater, a whole house ventilation system"

Just google'd it and its one of the top links, has to be the "loft" one.

Would have linked but do not think I can with forum rules.

Doen't sit right with me, my loft is freezing in the winter, so you'll be pumping cold air into the house to solve a condensation issue, I assume it works but I'd be looking at a MVHR system for that money that pumps the heat back in.
