Does anyone else have the same fear about talking on LIVE for the first time. I sit their with the head set on but am too scared to talk.... I am using the excuse that it is "sad" to talk online. I wish my friends would hurry up and get 360's so I can do it without saying "hello can anyone hear me...mocka mocka mocka"?

Just talk, it doesn't bother me at all although I'm generally not very chatty.

I hate talking on Live too. It scares the crap out of me, lol!

Dont know why, cos I'll never meet anyone or see any of them, so its a bit daft really! :)

I'm more of a listener, it feels a little silly talking to strangers. When playing with my friends etc though I talk a lot more.

Always have the mic muted in public rooms

Private rooms however (or games I invite friends too) I'll happily chatter away :)

However if I'm playing downstairs in the lounge with my parents nearby I won't talk as much :o

it depends who i'm playin against, if its some random american kid then not a chance, but if its any of you guys or my friends then yeah, always fun to have a laugh though it usually leads to me not talkin anyway cos im concentratin too much on what im doin (lol im so mono-tallented)

Oh yeah I often find myself practically doing a running commentary of my action at times :D

Most annoy a lot of folk :D

//edit:

Mr.Cokecan - Burnout tonight? gotta show you the ropes eh? :)

lol im gonna risk saying "bring it" at the cost of me looking just plain silly when I end up right next to roser in that wall :)

yeah def up for it. what time?

I don't mind talking over live though i dont talk much. even less when parents around :)

Wont be getting a xbox webcam though as i hate having a cam on me. :p :D

Anytime after about 2:30pm till Wednesday Lunchtime ;)

Depends on the mood I'm in. If I'm in a room with friends - you usually can't shut me up ;) If I'm in a room with people I don't know, I'll listen for sometime before I decide whether or not those people are worthy of my chatter ;) :p

But I was the same as you to being with - I found it weird to be talking to people. But now I've got some friends I have played with since the launch of PGR2 (my first Live game) and it's just like chatting on the phone. Sometimes we even talk when we're playing different games.

lol 2 days worth of burnout, you mad?

but yeah, i should be home from work around 4:30 gone, so pretty much anytime after that will do me. will probs have the 360 on if ya want to invite me to a game. also everyone else that owns burnout MUST play. you MUST!

I really venture online, and dont think I've ever actually used the 360 headset. Got fed up with annoying gits on the original Xbox.

Being an anti-social SOB doesnt help either :p

I never talk on live, infact I found my very mangled looking headset stuffed under my sofa just last night. Doubt it will work again and I won't be buying a replacement.

TBH I have nothing to say really. Used it a bit when I played GRAW online as it was useful to discuss what each other was doing but other than that the conversations were always limited to *enter lobby* "Evening lordrobs" "Evening" and that was about it :o Had probably 2 chats with randoms and thats it.

On the rare occasion that I did use my mic in the past the joys of living at home meant I used to get "DID YOU SAY SOMETHING?" bellowed to me from the other room from my mum :(

Also on the subject, there should be a device built into the headsets that electrocutes the ***** that sit there heavy breathing down the mic. Sounds like chuffin Darth Vaders playing you at Texas Hold'em  Those that cough and sniff constantly and don't say a word could do with a dose of electroshock to the noggin too. If you have nothing to say put the begger on MUTE!

i rarely talk when online playing games, unless its folk i know. I always have my headset on, but aint a big talker.
Also her indoors moans if i get 'too chatty' and she can't hear the tv lol

I played some uno with some american lads (sounded in their 20's +) was an absoloute blast, convos were hilarious especially as one quick beer turned into a few. Just depends who you are on with, i know a lot of people go on about loudmouth americans (especially the nerdy up themselves teens) but their brash attitude often opens up the convo nicely, only brits aside from u lot that talk are either drunk or about 9yo!
