Just a heads up that TalkTalk started to roll out a free upload upgrade to it's 40/2 fibre customers so that they will now be on a 40/10 service.

The roll out started last week and is expected to be completed by the end of June. :)

Would be nice, but costs more from their upstream. Which is why take up has been low outside of the BT monopoly. May as well go the whole hog to 80/20.

Wholesale Packages
40/2 £8.28
40/10 £8.80
55/10 £10.08
80/20 £11.94

Sweet although ill no longer be with them soon. Cant fault TT service has been solid for me no issues other than a 1 day outage for past 2 years. But this is nice. Dont see much point in a 40/2 service anymore. Might aswell do 55/10 and 80/20. Im sure openreach are enabling another profile to do 100Mbps so a 100/20.

100/20 would be 30a and they're not rolling that out because of G.Fast.

I guess 40/10 and 80/20 is easier to market and understand, "Twice the speed for only £5 extra", or something.
That's true! Makes it look like a steal but it actually only cost them a few pence more at whole sale value. But from a customer point of view look double to speed for only a few quid more. Might aswell.

Can't find it mate. Had a look around and even during the time i worked at plusnet and they had talks with us about future products being 55/10 being one of them sole reason why they downgraded customers on 40/10 because of this so they could entice more people on the 55/10. We was told or rather it was mentioned there was talks about openreach looking in a 100Mpbs package with a similar upload. I guess that's not happening now, especially after looking at this.
