Just had fibre installed today. 4 hours later the laptop disconnects and won't reconnect up.

Ive changed the 20/40mhz to 20mhz as recommended.

Changed the channel to 11. Still no luck!

A little bit annoyed right now. My desktop which is cabled works fan with fast speeds though.

Any more tips?

Thanks

EDIT. Since changing the SSID my phone also won't connect up

EDIT II: restored the router and its fine. Theres so many talktalk-***** routers up my road I wanted to change the name of mine but it doesn't seem to like me doing that.

When I had fibre installed, the BT engineer suggested that we avoided rebooting the router/modem unless absolutely neccessary until it 'beds in'. I think they tweak some settings between the cabinet and the destination and they cant do this if its being changed.

He also suggested that if the modem is to be rebooted, then to shut the router off first.

Power Router Down > Power Modem Off > Power Model On > wait for lights to settle > boot router up.

I just went in to the router through the IP in the browser then rebooted :/ Ahh well, all is back up now and hopefully it stays that way :)
