Ok so if anyone can sort this then i will be forever grateful because i cant get it sorted and neither can anyone else it seems

Basically im on talktalk and so are my friends and when trying to join a party on the ps4 it comes up with nat issues, Now i have nat 2 but ive plugged straight into my modem achieving a nat 1 and i still cant connect to friends. Ive port forwarded , ive put my console and theirs into a dmz but nothing works. For some reason talktalk is blocking communication between other talktalk users.

Any games that rely on a p2p connection wont work as we get a timeout error and the only way we can talk in a party is if 1 of my friend swho is with bt starts the party then we can all speak.

any ideas?

talktalk say its not their problem but ive exhausted all avenues.

Yeah I've phoned them multiple times, I've posted on forums, other people have posted on forums. Nobody seems to know the answer though. Only thing that fixes it is changing isp which im not in a position to do.

Not sure if it would make any difference but have you tried changing your DNS within your router to say OpenDNS

208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220

It's a long shot but you never know

PS i'm also with TalkTalk :)

Can you speak with other talk talk users? I've tried 2 different routers, 1 with the modem built in and one without as well as the modem by itself. I will try open dns and check mtu.

are both of you showing NAT type 1 when having the problems ?

If so I suspect there won't be anything you can do other than get somebody else to start parties for you (or one of you move to another ISP)

No he's Nat 2 all the time even in dmz, I'm usually nat2 in dmz also buy can get a nat1 if I plug directly into modem. If I teather from my phone I can speak to him but not using talktalk.

what about at the other end.

doesn't sound right that your friend can't get Nat Type 1 even when directly connecting like you do.

No thats because he has the newer fibre router which i also have which has modem built in. My other friend also is with talktalk with the newer router although no dmz and he cant connect to either of us.

the point im making though is my friend with bt can speak to any of us so if i have a nat 1 i would have thought i would be able to also. the only thing i could think was that talktalk are blocking ports at their end somewhere but ive spoken to them numerous times and they all say there is no port blocking.

I've never asked people who there with but i connect to people round the world and UK without any problems

I'm using a BiPAC 7800N

Im not sure if the problem may be that we are al on the same exchange since we all live in the same town. But it doesnt seem to be just us with the problem
