Hi all

We have the above in what was our airing cupboard. I'm plasterboarding the cupboard today and to do the neatest job possible, I need to unscrew it from the wall.

Is it as simple as isolate, remove from wall, and enter code if it goes off? I'm assuming that having the code will allow me to stop it going off even if it detects tampering? I know there's a backup battery in the box, but I'm unsure what the relationship between the two is.

Thanks!

Depends whether your alarm is monitored from a call centre.
Battery only supplies power in event of power cut, it might be hard wired, or just use a push connector,so it's a simple job of disconnecting it.
No idea if code will stop it sounding if tampered with, but isolating it from mains & disconnecting battery should.

The manual might give you more details, might also be a service mode within the menu.

On ours at least, you just need to enter the engineers code which puts it into 'maintenance' mode.

when you open the box it will go off, enter the code and it should shut it up but the tamper light will be on till you reassemble it all.

Cheers all. I took it off and the internal alarm went off, went downstairs and entered the code but it carried on buzzing. Tried the hash key and that seemed to do it. The manual is around somewhere :O.

Thanks for your help. Got the boards up by the way. What a massive faff! Had to move a load of pipes out of the way.

I know its a bit late but you probably have a service code ......it will probably have the default one......so next time u will save your ears...lol

Cheers. No idea what the service code is if any. Forgot to switch the circuit back on on the consumer unit and it started going off at 4am this morning for low battery. Bad times.
