Tannoy System 8 dual concentric Monitors?

I'm tempted to pick up a nice used pair (as they're discontinued) of these Tannoy's. Anyone have these or have heard them? They're dual concentric, which apparently gives better sounds as it's from a point-source, but I'm such a sceptic when it comes to things like this...

Every speaker that I know of has it's own design parameters and compromises, the Tannoy's are no different. Go listen and see whether you like them or not, that's the only thing that matters.

Thanks, hopefully I'll be able to listen to them tomorrow, but I'm not sure if the shop will have a demo room as it's a music gear shop as opposed to a Hi-Fi shop.

Tannoys dual concentrics have very good stereo positioning, Have spent many hours listening to Tannoy DC3000's and you can always pick out the position of the sound, and there is no dead spot in the middle at all.

However I do find the mid range a little more forward than my usual system (Mission 753 Freedoms), and although the missions dont have such accurate spacial positioning I prefer their overall sound.

Tannoy have made some great speakers over the years, but its defiantly your ears that are important. Take a listen, and if you like their presentation then your on a winner.
