hi all, Just a general wondering

who still uses tape backup and what drive/library do you use, old/new, big/small and don't be embarrassed if its a DLT S4

Tandberg T24 with LTO5 drive and tapes. This is presented through scsi to a server running starwind iSCSI server in order to present the library to a DPM2010 install running on a hyper-v/SCVMM virtual environment.

Previous job was a Dell TL4000 with LTO4 over FC.New job is a standalone scsi LTO5. Tape is still very much in use

I am trying to get more LTO5's in, but I have a Scalar i40 with 1 LTO5, a Superloader 3 with LTO5, Overland Storage ArcVault 24 with LTO4, another with LTO3 and 2 LTO2 Neo 2000's.

Next year I'm going to be pushing disk based with dupe to the LTO5's and reorg our NBU environment into 1 site as opposed to 2, which was 4 2 years ago.

sure you've got enough variation of libraries there lol, tip get rid of the ArcVaults while there still worth something.

I personally hate the Overlands, their support is pretty gash - I bought the Quantums, and plan on getting another LTO5 inside the Scalar and doing away with everything else in the near future.

i dont blame you, we dont even support them anymore there that bad. i dont mind the quantum libraries aslong as there isnt a quantum drive inside lol.
