I don't know where to start but please be patient with me while I tried to explain my problem.
ok I brought the tp link tapo video doorbell camera kit D230S1 and I seem to have set it up properly
so when I when into setting in the tapo app to set things up I noticed that the single was saying weak
tapo hub is connected to my router via ethanet cable and the doorbell is on my outside front door(obviously)
right I live on the second floor of a two stories apartment... so I tecided to call technical support(tapo) about the single only showing one bar
so this was there answer bring the doorbell closer to the hub WTF? or move the hub closer to the doorbell? so i said you want me to run a ethanet cable
15 foot long from my router to the hud plus i need a plug socket WTF so he said you can return it sir... anyway I hope I have explained myself sorry if I haven't.
so do i put up with a poor single or return it please can you advise what you would do .. can you also recommend me another video doorbell please
thank you very much for reading my post

So, essentially your problem is the WiFi signal from your Tapo hub is too weak to reach down to the doorbell.

You need to investigate ways of improving the signal from the Tapo hub. The first thing to try would repositioning the Tapo hub within your flat. E.g. can you put it in a front window? Try moving it around into various locations and see if the signal strength improves.
Thanks for your reply really appreciated. The trouble is the ethanet cable that came with the video kit is only about a foot long anyway it's not wireless, as you know. can you recommend any other manufacturers? I'm not very technical minded, that's my problem.

Firstly, you do actually have a signal from the doorbell being recognised, so is the doorbell actually working or not?

An ethernet cable can be used for initial testing, they are relatively cheap. It may be that your flat has thick floors or something, so the intial testing will show if you can get round this by moving the hub. If successful, then you could then possibly do a wireless bridge from the router over to the Tapo hub within your flat, so you don't have to put up with a cable.

Otherwise, you will have to think of something else, e.g. a wireless doorbell with a more powerful WiFi signal sender. I don't know of anything, but all the video doorbell manufacturer websites are listed here.

Otherwise, can you just fit a wired video doorbell?
I have tried it from outside and when I look at the app. I can see myself what I have not been able to try. Is if I'm away from the flat say out shopping, etc

The signal strength does not matter if its working.
If it works when your in the house it will work when your out. I assume that's what you meant in the last post.
wow great thanks for your helping me... but since my last post I've been out in the car and got a neighbour to help me.. by ringing the doorbell and I got a text/email telling me that someone is at my door I opened the app and it said unable to connect? I pess on video but nothing just a blank screen

The only way to fix connection issues is to follow radderfires advice about moving the hub closer to the doorbell.

I don't see it being much better with any other doorbell. You might get lucky with one but its a lot of hassle trying them all till one works
ok I haven't had a good look around the Internet but I will do ... can't I get a wireless one that cuts out the ethanet cable because I could put hud/WiFi then I can put it at the top of the stairs thank you very much for your help

ok guys i have bought a ring video doorbell no hub which is great setup very fast and easy works fine with my alexa show 8 ... but wifi is still a little bit down it shows 3 bars would i be able
to move the route to the top of my stairs i have not tried it but i have put a range extended which i had in my bedroom my router is with 3 mobile it as a sim card if that helps you to help me
i have downloaded a app call WiFi toolkit and according to the app, I have a very good connection and speed so I don't know anyway thank you very much for reading my post and any advice you could give me.
