Spiders scare the bejesus out of me tbh and as we are off on a family holiday to the Caribbean this month, I instantly decided to check what this countries 'wildlife' had in store for me.

Now ive been fortunate in my travels to not see too many critters.. the worst was a jumping spider in the Maldives that was in the room. But considering we have been to a variety of destinations, thats not so bad!

However this country is known for its Tarantula's and I live in fear that one of the suckers is going to make his way in and have his way with me....

This is the area we are going... not that hotel, its too low brow for my wife, however... WTF!

So learned travelers amongst the blue forum, have you been here and have you seen these things walking around?

That's one cute Tarantula.

In Ecuador I stayed in a camp in the Amazon and they had a pet tarantula....that went missing for 3 days. It ended up being found in the ladies toilet block....under a toilet seat.

So glad I am a bloke hahahaha

Tarantulas like any other spider will always run unless you really provoke it. Plus, unless you have a pathetic immune system, or are a small baby their venom will have no major impact minus a bit of swelling. Much like a bee sting/wasp sting.

Man up.

"The Caribbean" is not a country.

You are generally unlikely to encounter a roving tarantula in the hotel. Where in the Caribbean are you going?

There are no tarantulas in the Caribbean worth being afraid of. They are not interested in humans anyway.

EDIT
Just seen you are going to Punta Cana. The spider in the video is an adult male. They wander about looking for love. Interested in nothing except copulation with lady spiders. Shoo it into the vegetation.
