taskbar no longer slides up or down

my task bar when set to autohide no longer "slides" up or down, it just appears or disappears. How can I fix this? thanks

are you saying you had it it working in vista and it's now stopped or that it worked in xp, how do i get vista to do it?

have you changed anything recently? hardware or drivers specifically

I'm saying I had it working in vista before, but now it has stopped working.

I havn't done anything I can think of that could have made this happen, except for i recently installed a new soundcard...

I can't find that.

On xp its under "rclick my computer and go to properties>advanced and then click the settings button in the performance section.

On vista i am unsre as i am not at home. I would guess its in a very similar place.
