Hello guys

Sorry to invent another thread for Tv's. I've been tasked by the parents of finding them a new tv. Their current TV is a 46inch samsung which is nearly ten years old.

They quite like the look of OLED Tv's. What are people's thoughts on a suitable replacement? They are also looking at getting something a bit bigger.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks :)

You've set your heart on OLED so I won't add anything to this thread.
If you decide to consider something a little brighter, I'll chip in.

What about the new Sony OLED's?

Priced a few hundred quid higher for what is the same panel I believe, unless you really want the different design it seems like money going to waste, there are a few things that may sway the decision if you have specific uses though according to this review:

If you want better sound quality, slightly better motion processing, and fewer visual artifacts in streaming video, the Sony A1E OLED offers all of that. The Sony and LG look almost indistinguishable with SDR content, but the LG pulls ahead with HDR, thanks to its new Dynamic Tone Mapping function that ensures you see all of the detail in bright highlights. The Sony’s wall-mounting system isn’t as sleek, and its Android TV operating system isn’t as fast or elegant as LG’s WebOS system.

If you watch a lot of sport for example then you'd probably want to go with the Sony, if most of your viewing was HDR content on Netflix and 4k blu-rays then the LG.

PRO's and CON's with all TV's i was looking at Sony picture looked great but poor remote which layout was awful and that rubbish Android on the TV. Im a fan of Android but on the Sony its awful. And then looked at LG pic was good but not as good as the Sony but you got magic remote and decent WebOS i know its the picture we look at. But they seems to be more to a TV this day and age then just the picture
