So I noticed while playing StarCraft 2 with Skype, my CPU usage was at 100%, which was really abnormal. I checked Task Manager and noticed it was taskhost.exe hogging it all up. But the exe file was in the roaming folder, so I used Process Manager and saw it was connected to a "ypool.net", which Google showed was linked to CPU bitcoin mining. I scanned and deleted it, as well as the startup entry and it seems to be fine now. But I have no idea how I was infected! Apparantly it was created on the 08/08/13, with the taskhost.dll only created today (and started the whole high CPU usage). The only thing I've been doing is SC2 + Skype, so I have no idea how I was infected
. Can you get infected via one of these two programs?
EDIT: And two friends I play with also got infected as well... how odd...
