Taxing your car online?

My car tax is due for renewal 31-08-2006. now when i went to do it online i put in my car dets it comes up with the make and tax class.

but theres a couple of bits im not too sure about.

Vehicle Licence/SORN Status: Licence Not Due

Licence Start Date: 01 08 2006

the Licence status is fine, but its the start date i question.

now if my car tax is due to end 31-08-2006, shouldnt the start date show 01-09-2006???

From what I remember you can't do it until like the middle/end of the month. It then should say 'Licence Due' and the date will change.

(if u cant tell, this is the 1st time i've taxed a car )

As above, you'll have to wait until August 15th before you can do it online, I did it last month and got the reminder and the new disc in the same post .
