Hi all looking to get an 85 inch TV for main room, standard TV watching plus films and sport from streaming devices.

These two models currently priced at £1499 in UK , but it's hard to get an 85 inch review 9d these exact models.

1. Can all provide opinions as to what's the better TV 9f the two and reasons ?
2. Is there a better alternative in this price range for 85 inch
3. Is there a much better 85 inch but 0uwhing this budget hire worth considering .
4. Any major concerns with these TV's , I keep reading issues with bugs and crashing but does that relate to using for gaming and the apps ? I plan to stream via apple TV device and amazon cube as opposed to TV
5. I've a samsung Soundbar which I HWK930, and link my apple TV and cube through this . Will I still gain the benefits of the 120hz refresh on the TV doing this ?

Thanks all , input really appreciated on any 0f the points asked

Yes SD Is irrelevant , so unsure if others are commenting on 4k and above all is my focus, as reviews are highly commendable for both panels . Ofcourse OLED is a step up , but 4k I viewed , whilst not as sharp as OLED ofcourse, side by side , the mini LED was excellent on 85 Inch and certainly not £3k worth of differential

Hornet who :)

And sorry no typo HWK 950 , dolby atmos , found that to be fantastic , maybe beaten now but was one of the first top end dolby atmos speaker sets. Still love it. Hence I want a large unit to now match it's output.

I follow this guy and he's pushed me toward big panels over tiny quality

But the UK doesn't have the QM8 model in the UK , so hence was wondering if for sports I'm best with TCL 85C845K or moviesl HISENSE 85U7KQTUK , but often reviews are from US sites often not like for like with uk .frustrating

May just have to order, trial and send back if not happy.
This might help a little: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/u7k-u7-u75k

I've found that comparable mid range Hisense models tend to be better for movies while TLC often edges out for games. As an owner of the 65U6KQTUK one thing of note is that in the UK it's an IPS panel vs the VA that the US has, something most review sites fail to mention. This means that black levels aren't as good as the US version despite the MINI-LED/FALD tech employed in the screen. There's also a certain amount of glow around the edges, which may or may not bother you in very dark scenes. That said, it offers a perfectly decent picture for 4K movie watching and manages HDR quite well for a mid range TV. I don't know how well this translates to the U7, especially the larger models which may use different panel types compared to their smaller brethren, so I'd be sure to look that up.

I'd not get too caught up with Hornet, he's infamous around here for jumping into threads and immediately telling people to spend several times their budget on things that aren't appropriate for their usage.

PS: Do you mean the Samsung Q930 soundbar? If so that's a perfectly decent bit of HT kit and absolutely doesn't need changing.

I did look at , but Don't want a projector on the ceiling in fairness , , have 9ne for outdoors for movie nights on occasion , but indoors is a very clean cut room , would spoil the asthetic .

And tbh I prefer tvs at eye level so actually plan to cabinet mount this given the size for once..so hopefully no need to use my insurance policy :)

I bought this for £1,200 6 months ago... LG 86QNED916QE (LG QNED MiniLED QNED91) and it's been superb. DV, HLG, HDR10 etc all the bells and whistles... it's a big frigger though to put on a wall lol.

Slight DSE (which is to be expected on most TV's of this size other than OLED), but other than this the blacks are great and the brightness seems insane... colours superb... yeah... all in a bargain for a 86" and will keep me happy until the price of OLEDS drops for the 85-90" sizes.
Second person to suggest , I'll.def look into ..

You can use the nearfields such as the Hisense on a table, they're pretty adjustable too so getting things eye level shouldn't be a problem.

You'd get much higher quality tbh, a big part of the expense when setting up a projector HT is that you need to add audio kit, but you already have that.

Going to explore these , hadn't considered at all, but do you need buy some form of screen also ...price wise , assume jumps things up above beyond panels mentioned ..
