TCPA!

Sign me up jim!

Microsoft does get on my pecks at times like these. If only microsoft would release source code relating to hardware drivers and directx (perhaps they will be forced to by the European anti-competition board) so that linux will be able to play directx games native and have manufacturer's windows drivers work on linux. This, in my opinion, is the only way microsoft can get proper competition so they will have to shape up and stop infringing privacy (read WGA).

Oh well, a man can dream ...

TCPA is for corporates who want to lock down their hardware for security/accountability reasons - to stop people installing games/viruses/whatever on their corporate desktop/laptop. Yes, I know you can do much of that with Windows security (or Linux security), but even then there are limits.

Even the likes of Microsoft are not stupid enough to prevent people running Linux if they so wish. It's all scaremongering and conspiracy theories, and it sucks. :(

Yet another great technology demonified by sensationalists. And a token ill informed anti-Microsoft comment in there too. Good job! You do realise the first company to use TPM to protect it's products and lock it to hardware was Apple with it's Intel version of OSX? :)

Sure, the technology could be abused, just as with most things. But can you imagine a corporate network where only things approved by the administrator can execute? No more viruses, trojans etc. and no more downtime from people installing games and whacking their PC!
