TDU 2 on Steam for pre order.

Thats actually not a half bad price. How has the Beta gone? Very tempted to get this on the PS3 though...

ps3ud0

Just found out that tdu is very modable these days, got the community patch tho cant tell anything is good from it yet tho roads seem busier and also car mods which i have a couple of, gona get a mini soon later. :)

i wouldnt bother TDU2 is crap i played the demo and the cars handled like buses... was in a ferrari that couldnt even handle a long sweeping bend.

i got bored very fast , sad because i had fond memories of tdu

I was under the impression the cars handled terribly in the TDU1 beta aswell but it was polished up nicely for release.

There is a reason they are called the Beta and not Demo. The Whole purpose being to optimise the game for the user and iron out the bugs.

i was thinking that

the game seemed much improved the last time i used the Beta 2 months ago, i hope it arrives before christmas comes :)

I've been playing the beta and have found it very nice to handle - just like the first really, you cant just jump in every car and expect to be a genius - it takes a bit of time to get used to the cars nuances! :D

Love it and gonna pre-order it!

To be fair, I'd be happy with TDU1 with the online sorted! :D

What demo? There has not been a demo. There's an on-going closed beta but guess what, the beta is named beta because it's called beta-testing. People have just forgot the concept of actual beta testing due to EA and other studios releasing demos as fake betas now.

That being said, I wouldn't pre-order the game just yet but I don't think anyone should ever pre-order any game this early anyway (unless it's from Valve/Blizzard! :) ). The beta has a long way to go and I'm not sure they are willing to go those extra miles to make the PC version a proper version. Currently the game is a complete mess and I think part of the reason is catering the gameplay to consoles.

The physics/handling is iffy at the moment and other things still need work but it is in the Beta stage at the moment and the developers are keen to change things according to the feedback the community gives them which sadly can't be said for a lot of developers these days. It's got a few months to go yet, but things are definitely going to change for the better. The developers are listening, so if you have access to the Beta then try helping out by giving some feedback/suggestions instead of complaining about it.

The game could've been released in September/October but they decided to push the release date back because of the feedback they were getting. A wise move if you ask me.

i meant beta...

i relaise what betas are but when you ignore player feedback... i got in one of the earlyer phases so i know how much the game HASNT been changing

beta is suposed to be when you listen to the testers and implement changes they ask for or atleast consider them

You do know your only testing what they want you to test. So if something is crap then its probs not been released to test yet.

Then again some betas are that crap like worms reloaded, ppl said in beta that rope was like from WA but when it came to release, hell it was....

Im sorry but any long time gamer on pc should know that they are now calling these things "beta's" instead of Demo's to cover there backs for a shoddy job.

4/5 years ago this would have been called a demo not a beta, it is a new ploy to cover the developers backs for a bad job so they can get people like yourself to say its "in beta".

heck call of duty black ops theatre mode is "beta" lol and the game is out... its shoddy jobs being covered by the term beta.

a beta 3-5 months before release is not a cover name for a demo...

Demo is released maybe a week or 2 before but usually on release date.

you shouldn't put all developers in the same basket. Atari and Eden Studies genuinely seem to want to replicate the success of TDU in this next instalment and hence why they have had closed Betas running for a long while now, trying to flesh the game out for YOU, the gamer.

Some people are just so ungrateful and want a perfect product right now.

The Steam page says Jan 2011. Must say I'm tempted, does anyone know if Steam take the money now or only when the game is available?

If this were true then the game would have been released back in October when it was originally slated to be out and it would have been "fixed" with patches!

To be honest its a refreshing change to see a developer hold back the release to fix it themselves!
