Hello.

When I start Test Drive Unlimited the first few videos play like the Eden clip plays then the screen goes black and keeps going smaller then larger and I have to start task manager in order to close it. Any ideas what is causing this? Im guessing its the way the graphics are set up but what? I have changed the resolution and that wasn't the problem.

~Thanks

EDIT: Ive just re-installed and no luck

Is it the retail copy or Steam?

If its Steam, try verifying the integrity of the game cache (right click the game in your library, properties, local files and select verify integrity of game cache)

If its the retail copy, make sure you are patched up to the latest version and your graphics drivers are up to date!

Hope this helps because its a cracking game! (unlike its successor!!!)

Omg. Got it all working installed the 1.68b patch. Now I go to play it and it loads the Atari video and Eden one then the game says "not responding" or just closes

1.68b patch? Didn't even know there was one. All I know about is the 1.66A patch. Have you got a link to the 1.68B patch?

Still doesn't work. Keeps turning off after a few videos and ive re-installed it twice now
I'm getting something similar. I played TDU maybe a year ago on the same PC and it worked fine. This time though it's very different. When I finish a race the game will start to save my progress and then when the screen fades out saying "Saving... Please wait..." and then that's it.

The only thing that I can think of having changed since last time I played is that I now have NOD32 v5 and not v4. I've tried adding the TDU folders to the exclusion list and even turning off NOD32 when I play the game, it doesn't always work. I've tried changing the shortcut to TDU to run the game as an Administrator and putting it in either XP SP2 or SP3 compatability mode. Nothing works properly 100% of the time. This is quite a shame as TDU is such a good game, still, even after TDU2, which is rather rubbish I think compared to TDU.

Good point! :p

I must be still delirious over the abomonation that was TDU2!

For all that its a complete abomination as a racing game with a good wheel it probably has the best replication of the driving experience of cars like the GT-R, Audi R8, etc. of any racing game I have played so the freeroam alone is worth the money tho I did get it for £3.99 in a Steam sale.
