TDU2 low performance suddenly

Hello,

I have TDU2, it ran fine maxed ( 60 fps locked with vsync) but crashed randomly, a mate suggested to verify integrity of the cache in steam. 17 files failed and got redownloaded. I start the game, it updates, and the first thing I notice it's jittery.

I start xfire to look at my fps, I'm getting 17-29 fps.
So I turn down my graphics see if it fixes anything, even on 800x600, everything on low, no AA, I get only 25-40 fps...

It was all fine on 1920x1080, 2x MSAA, everything maxed ingame and FXAA, 16x AF and triple buffering forced in the nvidia panel! Ran like a dream on 60fps...

i7 940 @ 3.4ghz (HT disabled)
GTX570
12gb ram

Now it runs absolute crap. I also noticed I had pink skid marks but I got a fix for that.

What bugs me most is that the GPU usage is extremely low, and CPU usage is very high, I'm getting 50% cpu use ( so 2 cores at full load) during TDU2, and only 18-36% gpu use ( ironically, when the GPU use goes up, the framerate also does)... Graphics settings matter very little at all, I'm getting near identical framerates at 1280x720 no AA as on 1920x1080 with 4x msaa...

I checked if it was a hardware problem, nope, cpu runs at full speed and does not throttle, gpu runs at normal clockspeed too during playing.

I tried disabling every app I could think of, eg. xfire overlay, antivirus, anything in background like spotify or chrome, disabling my second screen, nothing helped! Reboot didn't fix anything.

Any ideas ? Other games run fine, both cpu heavy ( GTA4, Supreme Commander) or Gpu heavy ( Far cry 3, Battlefield3, etc...) games run fine, it's only TDU2 that somehow went from running great to running like total **** ?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, happens on both my online and offline profiles!

IT WORKS AGAIN :D.

I followed this video, strangely found this solution on youtube and not on google or forums:

Alt tabbing the game when I get to the splash screen, messing about in windows till the game responds ( it's buggy and will freeze when alt tabbing), clicking the icon on the taskbar, and BAM, performance is back :D.

What a difference, 53-60 fps now constantly :).

I do have to do this every time though, and the problem is definitely something with cpu use.
If I do the trick I get 70+ % cpu usage by tdu2. If I don't it uses 50% max  ?
EDIT: My volume mixer seems to freeze up at the same time when the game does when I tab out, I think it's some sound related issue ??

Edit2:
Either something sound related, or the shoddy coding derps around and doesn't use the cpu properly when I launch it normally.

The difference is already visible in the ''game'' render after intro, using the alt tab trick it's 85+ fps, not tabbing out only 30ish fps .
