Teach me about Mambo!

My hosting company has kindly provided me with a Mambo CMS option.

My problem is template design and working out menus, etc, etc.

Therefore, I want to create my own template to give me a better understanding of how this all works.

Problem is, I hate Dreamweaver and would rather set up a template in raw fashion if possible.

Any tips?

I installed Joomla to use on my site and they're pretty similar...basically I copied the default skin and just began to modify that to suit my own needs, looks exactly how I want it now but will take a rewrite from scratch to make it 100% perfect! I know how to go about it now I know how it all works

You mean they installed it on top of php/mysql? Probably easier to install it yourself (or rather Joomla instead)... then follow the Joomla tutorials...
