Hi ive got the rest of my system but just need to decide on some RAM.

The Cellshock i know a bit about them and i have heard all good very good things.

The Crucial, one of the best companys for Memory but people dont seem to recommend the ones below any reason why or are they just average.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-090-CR

And finally the Team Xtreem have heard a hell of a lot about these and how good they are but i have never heard of that company before, are they new?

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-000-TG

So out of them 3 what would you recommend? I wont be doing overclocking for the first few months once i get my new rig.

Other components im getting is the E6600 and the ASUS P5B-Deluxe. :)

Thanks

Team tbfh, they aren't brand new company they have been around for a few years (to my knowledge) but have mainly been sold throughout europe and america! a few people got the earlier team kits imported over at xs forums for use with their opty's and since then they have always been the number 1 choice for any overclocker! i'm going to start playing around with the timings on mine see where i can get to, as i'm only running 800mhz at the minute (3.2ghz on my cpu) until i sort my watercooling out so i may aswell get these running tight timings!

Save some cash and get some standard ram. No point in spending out on uber clocking ram with that combo.
400 FSB will give you 3.6ghz (which is average for the 6600's it seems). The memory dividers can be a bit dodgy on the intel boards so you may find yourself limited to 1:1 running. Even if you can run dividers ok, the performance increase doesn't justify increased cost.

Hi OC_A64, just the man I wanted to speak to! Just 'finally' getting down to testing the Crucial-10th and wanted to know if you got it to 3-3-3-? at DDR800?

I haven't tried yet but its passing 4-4-4-12 testing @1.8v with no errors yet?

I'm sure it will do 3-3-3-? but not sure about the volts . . . ta! :)

I see no reason not to buy the Crucial 10th? Tis good stuff indeed!

I would check out the warranty situation with the other brands?

why the tenth yeah its brilliant ram but its only running at 667mhz?
It runs faster, I'm only just getting going with mine but so far I am impressed!

Crucial 10th - DDR800 speeds - 4-4-4-12 - 1.8v <-Can't set any lower vDimm

Crucial 10th here, excellent ram very versatile. Either this the team or the cellshock are all great performers and wont dissapoint. I'd like to see someone with more money than sense buy all 3 and test them to see whose the daddy of the £200ish ram market but im sure it wouldnt be by much anyway :)

Team Xtreems here, not really tested the full potential of these yet since my Bad Axe 2 won't let me drop the multi on my E6600 :(

But, have had them running at 4-4-4-6 at 1000Mhz which isn't bad. Currently running them at 980Mhz 4-4-4-6 but when I find some time I will see if I can tighten these latencies up anymore.

They look purdy too :D

Yeah no worries, they are running on 2.2V but I haven't tried lowering this voltage as yet. I started a thread here but never managed to finish it off.

See what you think and if I get time I will see if I can tightent those latencies up even further.

Erm, certainly wouldn't run it at 2.0v afaik on the AB9/P5B at anyrate. Will test it now on the P5N for you tho mate :)

the cellshock will do 3.3.3.8 ddr 800 with 2.3 volts
that means its the excact same as those
Team Xtreem 2GB DDR2 PC2-6400C3 800MHz Dual Channel £305 set

that would mean there is no diffrence between team cas3 & cas4
only thing team are doing is rasing the voltage and chargin £100 more
for same memory  abit like crosair ;)
TXDD2048M800HC3DC) needs 2.3 for cas3
TXDD2048M800HC4DC needs 2.2 for cas4

so will the crucial do 3.3.3.8 at 2.3 volts ddr 800 :p ?

There you go :) 2.25v (DMM tested) Might be able to drop the voltage/up the clocks a bit too. Can't run at this voltage 1T though, looks like it'll need closer to 2.3 - 2.35.

try blend orthos @ 2.25 volts
my ram also booted up 2.25 volts but it needed 2.3v to
become orthos blend stable @ ddr800

now lets see how high you can go with cas3 timings
keeping it at 2.3 volts :)

It's passed 200% of windows memtest. Would say thats pretty stable tbh.

so did mine m8 until i ran blend orthos
failed in under couple of mins

and how hot does those sticks get at 2.3 volts?
mine is cold to touch, i could keep my hand on it all day long.
