okay so ive been having this strange issue where . say im in the game playing and then it is almost as if i lose my internet connection for a few seconds. everything stops and then it works . its like everything pauses for a few seconds and then i start playing again.

i thought it was just the server being laggy but its the same on all the servers i go on.

i have the following settings and have tried resetting them to 100 etc

cl_cmdrate 30
cl_updaterate 20
rate 30000

can anyone help ?

says in the stop corner "connection Lost" Warning " but then after a few seconds it works. its hard to explain.

Are using a speedtouch 805 by any chance ? If so, the follow guide may help.

1) Start a command promt by clicking start -> run -> and typing "cmd" -> ok

2) Type "telnet speedtouch" into the command prompt, or if that doesn't work "telnet 192.168.1.254".

3) You'll now be asked for the modem login details (username: Administrator / password: leave blank - just hit enter)

4) Type "connection bindlist" into the command prompt and hit enter

5) Type "connection unbind application=GAME(UDP) port=27010-27011" hit enter and exit

Following the guide correctly should completely resolve any connection issues related to steam and the Be/805 modem, it did for me anyway.

Credit for the guide goes to Netripper from the steam forums: Source
