Hi all,

My friends and I frequently have lan parties. We end up playing L4D2, COD, killing floor, etc. I enjoy this, but I think that we need a change.

What I would like is a game where you have to work together to progress; perhaps through a campaign. I guess what I'm after is similar to MMO raiding; i.e. each person in the lan needs to do a specific job to progress through to the next stage.

I think the best example of what I'm after is, like super mario Wii, where if you're playing two players, you can 'work together' to complete.

I hope this makes sense; any recommendations!?

If there is only 4 of you I can say Borderlands is good for some shoot em up instance fun.

You could see if you can play League of Legends over lan, you could do 3v3 or 5v5.

How many of you are there?

Dungeon Defenders and Borderlands are both great co-op.

Sven co-op (HL1 mod) has some great levels that really need team work for you to progress.

You could also just have some fun on Garry's mod, come up with a great idea and work together to make it. Same with Minecraft.

Magicka, it's only 4 players though but it's brilliant! Especially made better by the fact that inevitably you'll end up killing each other by accident. haha

LoL is good too if there's the right amount of you for teams.

I'd recommend Minecraft, Terraria, Diablo 3, or dungeon defenders.

Dungeon defenders is 4 player co-op.

Minecraft can have as many players as your computer or server can handle.

Terraria is like Minecraft but 2D and gameplay is a bit different. I think this supports more than 10 players.

You could have a look at Diablo 3 which comes out next month, apparently. I'm not sure how many players in cooperative this game supports.

After recently having a 9-10 man LAN party we tended to play L4D2, Red Alert 2, Grid and Age of Empires 3. If you like the Diablo side of things then D2 + LoD expansion pack would be great fun, or Diablo III once it comes out.

Other than that I suppose CS:S and TF2 would be good with that number of players, maybe UT3 as well.
