This may be a stupid question but...

In my BIOS I have my RAM set to an XMP profile which is at 3200Mhz, when I run CPUZ it says 1599 . Is this because it's dual channel so 1600x2 = 3200?

Or is it just not working

1600 x 2=3200 I'm guessing

Yep that figure is correct, don't forget memory is DDR which means Double Data Rate, so you have to double that figure

PS: Dual Channel is a different thing entirely, not to be confused with DDR

not dual channel, but DDR runs at double the speed shown in programs like CPUz so yes 1599 x 2
