My Team Group Elite 16gig 1600Ghz dual channel ram seems to be failing. I purchased it on 14th sept 2012.

(installed on a P8Z77-I Deluxe mini itx bitfenix prodigy build)

Windows memory diagnostic usually shows hardware problems (but not every time). Memtest86 shows a huge number of errors. (I cancelled after 12 hours).

WhoCrashed usually identifies ntoskrnl.exe and memory management to be the issue.

I can use my PC most of the time for extended periods but I get BSOD a few times a day with no particular pattern (perhaps youtube?)

I'm thinking of getting 8gb (2x4) replacement modules of equal or faster. Any recommendations? (PC is for vray and 3d cad)

what dram voltage are you using? and how much vccio? simply might be not enough voltage that its causing errors

Sound's like not enough voltage, ram can be quite sensitive with voltage. I would raise the voltage at least make sure it is running at the specified voltage. If that failed I would try to raise the timings by +1 for each timing and then memtest, if that failed or worked I would RMA. Should run at specified settings.

*Working voltage 1.5V± 0.075V * basically it says 1.50V to 1.60V, will depends on your motherboard and CPU memory controller a bit I think. Try 1.6V.

I've increased the ddr voltage to 1.6 (from 1.5). where do I raise timings? via bclk frequency?

Also I couldn't find vccio for this motherboard

VCCSA on this board is IMC and System Agent. Tock for 1600mhz is 1.05v so its set too low I would boost it up maybe to around 1.1 for full dimm population.

Increase VCCSA voltage from 0.925 to 1.1??

(only other thing I've done so far is increase ddr voltage to 1.6)

The stock VCCSA voltage for the Ivy CPU is 1.05. Your asking the controller to handle 16gb so 1.1 is a sensible and completely safe option. Anything upto around 1.25 is fine with Ivy. You don't say what your CPU is actually??? which would help.

DDR volts 1.65v is fine.

3770k 3.6GHz. I set the VCCSA to 1.25v in EFI and the DDR voltage but the memtest86 I've just started is already showing several thousand errors. I handled everything carefully when building incl static discharge.

I'll have to RMA but I still need to use my PC, so which 8 gig kit is the best deal? thanks

I have inches of clearance above the existing ram so it doesn't need to be low profile but not any longer, near the daughter card

Never change the BCLK I meant ram timings not frequency. Sounds like the ram is faulty to me. BCLK is for CPU. Ram timings are memory settings yours are 11-11-11-28 I was meaning for you to try 1.6v 12-12-12-30 for example.

Are you enabling XMP ???

Post a mem tweak it shot of your RAM settings maybe there is a glaring error.

BIOS 0508, black screen if I try and manually update (incl via flashback), automatic update doesn't find new versions from server (0607 incompatible?).

Didn't change BCLK. Changed ram timings and VCCSA, DRAM voltage as suggested but no improvement.

Still getting thousands of errors in memtest86. Rendering a video from AE crashes it every time, even only using 3-4gig.

Ram is already running at 1600MHz (see print screen) and the AI Overclock tuner doesn't show DOCP (xmp) option anyway.

I'll order some fast new 8 gig (2x4) modules tomorrow and send these pigs off asap. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS?? I see the Team ram for £20 but reluctant to go with team!!

ps. could it have been me using AI Auto-tuning that caused damage to these modules? I hadn't used advanced mode before this thread.

edit: thanks for your help guys, I've ordered GeIL Black Dragon 16GB, its about the same as what its replacing.
