What put me off was the generic picture of the lady on the website... Looked just liek a number of questionable programs and so I was not entirely comfy to use it.
It's the easiest remote desktop software to use in my experience. I used Skype video call to guide my friend on building his PC, and then used Teamviewer to set up the software side of things for him .
I use it to remote control a pc in another room in the house and it's a doddle,if you have qualms about security though then google Team Viewer/Security and see what you get.
I did that and was convinced it was safe to use if only by the fact that's it's been in use for so long with no reports of mal-anything about it so far.
Probably doesn't mean it won't be the next heart-bleed bug though.
