TeamSpeak server help

Not sure if this should be here, mods move if it shouldnt.

Can anyone here help me get a teamspeak server to work.

Basically I can connect to it, but to do it i have to use a router style ip starting 192.###.##.#

If I try my main ip starting 81.###.###.## it doesnt work and it doesnt work for my friend either.

I have set up port forwarding on my router.

Anyone know why it doesnt work?

Are you sure you have set up port forwarding correctly?
What error does it give your friend?

Well i tried setting it up myself and now im using a program called PFConfig

It just says the server doesnt exist.

you are using just the IP without a port number? It should look like this

###.###.###.###:####

Mmm... looks pretty simple in the manual, you are forwarding UDP right?

I think so, I used a guide on Portforward.com

but when i used my ip 81... it said out of range and would only work with my other 192... ip

You have three boxes on the forwarding page, the top one is for TCP and should be left blank, the second one is for UDP and should read 8767 and the bottom one should have your local IP address in it, ie the 192.***.***.***

Oh I give up, dont worry about it.

Just been told we well have a COD4 server with voice comms by monday anyway lol

When I set up the teamspeak server I use on my PC, I access via a local ip and the others use my external ip address.

Im lazy like that, It would only be used for this weekend anyway.

We had use of another clans TS earlier too so its all good.
