I've been a VERY happy Logmein user, but I'm a tight git so when they started charging for it, I jumped ship

If whatsapp can become a $19 Billion company whilst charging nothing, I ain't paying £20 or whatever to use logmein :D

anyway, I've installed team viewer and well.....it's a bit rubbish

I know my mac is on, it's on the network and team viewer is working....or it was an hour ago at least. When I try now, it says that my machine is not online

Power saving is on AC and disabled so I'm pretty sure it hasn't gone to sleep

should I just pay the £20

I have had the same issue as the OP at random with TeamViewer under OSX with it randomly appearing to be offline (particularly after you connected and disconnected from it previously).

No power saving (the box in question is my Plex server so is on all the time) and I have no idea why it does it.

Yes, it does seem to happen after I have disconnected. If I come back to it a little later, it thinks it's offline

I have a suspicion that it's related to the box which is put up after you disconnect (the one about staying honest and only using the free version for non-commercial use). If you are just using it to remote into family machines then they probably clear the box after you disconnect ... but if you are remoting into a headless box for instance then no one would be able to clear it ... and I wonder if nothing clears that box after a set time then it stops the software ...
