Just somethig I'm interested in, I have seen a lot of people mention they get tearing and in some cases terrible image tearing when using a 360 VGA cable, I myself have never witnessed it at all, not even once in any of the games/demos I have played.

I was wondering what games you had noticed it on, what monitor/TV you were using and which VGA cable (official or otherwise) was used.

Dont ask why, i'm just curious.

Rent blazing angels, try it on any lcd with any cable and watch a game that has such bad tearing it could be split screen. I cant even believe they have the balls to be releasing a 2nd blazing angels.

I've played a few games that I have noticed graphical glitches.

Saints Row is by far the worst of the games I have played.

I have not really been too upset by any of them. As long as it does not impair my ability to play the game (ie enemies disappearing, their hit boxes being elsewhere, frequent obvious graphical errors or the game freezing) then I actually don't care.
I think "Thats odd!" and carry on.

Happens for me on a fair bit of stuff, mainly HD-DVDs which is why I've changed to component.

TV is a Toshiba 37WLT58

Saints Row for me as well was the worst offender. It is visible in about 1/3 of the games I have played on the 360. Noticed it in GRAW, Tomb Raider, PDZ off the top of my head. Not a show stopper in any of the games for me, although different people have different tolerances of this. I am not a PC games player, so does not annoy me that much, seen it in previous gen consoles before as well, but very infrequently compared to the amount I have seen it on the 360.

They gave you the option to turn vsync on in the SR patch.

They did I heard it caused a performance hit and most people turned it back off to play.

As I said it hasn't impacted my game so I don't care enough. The weapon changing system in this game is much more annoying.

Try component.

I just switched from MS-VGA to MS-Component and the tearing has almost gone now!!

Think TFTs/HDTVs must lack a hardware vsync option as the makers must assume only PCs will use the VGA.

Dead Rising on VGA was bad now on component its perfect.

Double Agent is also a lot better under Component. You can still see a little tearing if you twirl the controller 360 degrees very quickly but it is hard to notice even on my 40" TV.

Lost Planet under component is also perfect now and much better colours which also show up gfx details I could not even see under VGA.

Only downside to VGA is that the picture is very clear so when you revert to component it looks a little blurry and takes some getting used to.

Component has much better colour definition though so it is not all bad.
