Am I correct in saying that 50Hz display is not possible via VGA? So that any games that are purely 50Hz PAL for the 360 will always exhibit tearing because the 360 outputs at 60Hz only over VGA.

Would I be better off playing through the component cables with these sorts of games (Prey is a bad one).

What display are you using which doesn't support 60Hz? I thought all modern TVs did, certainly ones which accept VGA input - I guess not then?

It's not a case of the TV supporting it, he wants to output games that were designed for PAL50 @ 50Hz, not the 60Hz the VGA cable defaults to :)

As for the original question, I don't think it's possible with VGA on the 360 I'm afraid.

It looks like the opposite is true, mon ami. PAL-60 games are the exception, which really means us PAL users are getting shafted again by having only 50fps compared to NTSC's 60fps (in 720p HDTV).

EDIT: Saying that though, I'm guessing the norm is that the games run in 50 or 60Hz quite happily and there are the odd few that are only 50Hz or only 60Hz.
